SERVICE DES PETITES VUES DE FRANCE. Manufacture royale et impériale, Sèvres, 1858. Set of 12 hard porcelain dinner plates, decorated with a central hand-painted polychrome medallion, representing a different view of France on each plate, surrounded by a gold frieze. The main "wing" border features a wide gold frieze decorated with small rosettes surmounted by palmettes on an agate-blue background. Each plate bears the identification of the place represented in gold letters: Le pont du Hameau (Petit Trianon); Ermitage de St-Bond, près Sens; Eaux-Bonnes (Basses-Pyrénées); Île Barbe, near Lyon; A gateway in Bordeaux; Marlborough Tower (Petit Trianon); Saint-Ouen church in Rouen; Former gateway to the Palais de Justice in Rouen; Château-Gaillard (Eure); A view of Moret (Seine-et-Marne); Buffon's tower in Montbard (Côte-d'Or); Montbard church (Côte-d'Or). Very slight age wear, but very good overall condition. Green mark: SV, LP under royal crown (18)45, (18)46, (18)54, (18)55. Gold mark: Sèvres, LP under royal crown, 1848. Red mark: decorated in Sèvres, N under imperial crown (18)58. Diameter: 24 cm.
