HOUSE OF ORLÉANS. Set of twelve antique photographic portraits depicting Prince Louis-Philippe d'Orléans, Count of Paris at various times in his life, Prince Philippe d'Orléans, Princess Isabelle d'Orléans, Countess of Paris; a photographic portrait of the young Duc d'Orléans, preserved in a gilded wood frame topped with a ribboned bow, and an interesting photograph of the Comte de Paris and his brother the Duc de Chartres in Civil War uniform, signed by Mathew Brady in Washington, during their campaign with the Northerners in June 1862. Most of the documents bear dedications with their autograph signatures, King Alphonse XIII on the Duke of Orleans' yacht, the Maroussia. Attached are a set of 12 large photographic portraits by Henri Manuel, depicting the Comte de Paris with his wife and their children, and a set of correspondence on the letterhead of the Château d'Eu dating from 1883, a set of correspondence dated 1888 on the princes d'Orléans' trip to Scotland and a set of three L.A.S. Auguste Trogon (1795-1873), tutor to François d'Orléans, prince de Joinville, talking about a visit to Queen Victoria. Rousseurs. Various formats.
