Good condition. German work, early 19th century. H. 4.3 cm - L. 4 cm History: The principality of Rheina-Wolbeck is located in the present-day state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was given in 1803 to Duke William Joseph of Looz-Corswarem (1732-1803) as compensation for the loss of his states on the right bank of the Rhine. But the principality's survival was short-lived: in 1803, Napoleon attached it to the Grand Duchy of Berg. In 1811, it was annexed by the French Empire. In 1815, following the Congress of Vienna, it was given to Prussia. Our seal was affixed to all official deeds of the prince or government of the principality between 1803 and 1806.
