LOUIS-PHILIPPE DUC D'ORLÉANS - Lot 24
LOUIS-PHILIPPE DUC D'ORLÉANS Extract from my diary for the month of March 1815, published at Twickenham, by the printing office of G. White, 1816, 147 p, in-4°, period binding in brown card, the stamp in black ink " Bibliothèque de S.A.R. Mgr le Duc d'Orléans". Slight age wear First edition printed on the private presses of the Duc d'Orléans, at Twickenham, the exile residence of the future Louis-Philippe, during his third exile. Intimately involved in the events of March 1815, his book is one of the most curious on the return from Elba and the Hundred Days. In it, the future King of the French gives a detailed account of his conduct during those troubled days, from his trip to Lyon on Napoleon's departure, to his letter of resignation when Louis XVIII left France (Davois).
