In-folio (28 x 43 cm), 2 ff., VI + 172 pp. (miscalculated 182), frontispiece and 41 plates, contemporary red morocco binding, angular fleurs-de-lis and central gilt coat of arms on boards, triple gilt fillet framing boards, ribbed spine decorated with gilt fleurs-de-lis, gilt edges. First edition. The handsome engraved illustrations include a frontispiece designed by François Boucher, 41 plates (14 double-page maps and 27 battle views, one of which is double-page), a title vignette with the coat of arms of France (repeated), 6 headbands and 5 endpapers. The figures are drawn by C. Eisen, A. Benoît and L. Boquet and engraved by L. Lempereur and Pasquier. A fine copy in morocco with the coat of arms of Queen Marie Leczinska, wife of Louis XV (OHR 2507, iron not listed). Covers and corners slightly rubbed. Cohen 337.
