Large cigar box in blackened wood veneer and chased ormolu. Rectangular in shape, it rests on four lion paws with scrolls, the opening front decorated with an ormolu bas-relief of a stabled horse with a child, the uprights adorned with rosettes, the projecting lid decorated with a bas-relief of a family of pheasants, the corners adorned with horse heads. The box contains a drawer and four sliding trays for 14 cigars. Height 32 cm - Width: 40 cm Depth: 31.5 cm Napoleon III period, attributed to Charles - Guillaume Dielh ( 1811-1885) and Emmanuel Fremiet ( 1824 - 1910) (Minor accidents and missing parts) Bibliography comparative : Christopher Payne "Paris furnitures Monelle Hayot, St Rémy sur l'eau, 2018, page 324 for an almost identical base on a Diehl cigar humidor, which produced a large number with variations.
