Pyramid clock in ormolu with openwork decoration of trophies, knotted branches of grained laurel, topped by an antique vase and resting on lion figures supporting shields, the white marble base decorated with foliage scrolls and palmettes, the feet foliated. Directoire period Height : 54 cm - Width : 34 cm - Depth : 21 cm (Accents to the enamel, missing plate and worn bronzes, missing hands) Provenance Christian Bernard Collection. A clock also known as a pyramid clock, but topped by an armillary sphere, is kept at Ajaccio town hall (bequest from Cardinal Fesch in 1839). A similar model was sold at Drouot by Maître Renaud on May 29, 1985, lot 69.
