Suite of four armchairs and a bergère in richly carved wood and gray lacquer. The curved backs are edged with pomegranate bursts, flower falls and pearl friezes. Armrests with cuffs and uprights with piaster and acanthus leaf friezes. The connecting pieces are decorated with flowers. The curved waistband is decorated with friezes of hearts and rows of flowers. Fluted and filleted tapered legs. Red leather upholstery. Louis XVI style, circa 1840 Height : 111 cm - Width : 62 cm - Depth : 55 cm (armchair) Height 113 cm - Width: 69 cm - Depth: 72 cm (shepherd's chair) (small accidents and missing parts, wear to leather) Based on a model executed around 1785 by Georges Jacob ( 1735-1814), used in 1804 for the corner salon of the pope's apartment at the Château de Fontainebleau, then for Empress Eugénie at the Palais de l'Elysée, where it was completed around 1855 - 1860. The ensemble belongs to the Mobilier National, on deposit at the presidency of the Republic, Elysée palace, salon des aides de camp ( deposit n°23 of August 8, 2017). (GME 1583/1 and 2).
