JAPON, Epoque Meiji (1868-1912), Dans le goût des productions de Miyao Eisuke Important incense burner in partially gilded bronze Taking the form of a seated Benkei giant, one leg resting on the ground, the other with the knee raised, lifting the incense burner with both arms. He is dressed in an ample robe decorated with phoenixes and paulownias, his face severe, his eyebrows thickly furrowed, his hairstyle treated in conical locks and spirals. The circular perfume burner resting on three feet, features a rich decoration of dragons moving among clouds on the body, the opening underlined by a frieze of grecques.
