41. OHM, Willy (Born 1982) - Lot 41
41. OHM, Willy (Born 1982) Bestioles, plate 28. India ink on paper, signed in pencil. Album published in 2010 by Dargaud, based on a scenario by Hubert. 42x29,7cm. Willy Ohm was born in Bordeaux in 1982. After graduating from the Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg in 2005, he published in children's magazines such as "Capsule Cosmique", "Dlire" and "Tchô". It was in the latter that he pre-published Bao Battle, published in 4 volumes by Glénat (2006 to 2010). He then drew the album Bestioles for Dargaud, with Hubert on the script, and created Sam le samouraï for the journal de Spirou from 2010 to 2013. He is also an occasional contributor to magazines such as "Papier" (initiated by Lewis Trondheim at Delcourt) and "Franky et Nicole", for which he signed the cover of issue no. 5 (Les Requins Marteaux). At the same time, Willy Ohm has been deploying his talents as an animator, notably for the award-winning series The Amazing World of Gumball (Cartoon Network), then for the Counterfeit Cat series broadcast on Disney XD. Other TV projects include Apple and Onion (Cartoon Network) and Battle Kitty (Netflix). He is also the graphic designer of a forthcoming animated series, Incredible Ant, which will air shortly. But it was with the release of his Mr. Coconut, in the Requins Marteaux Cul comic collection, that he won international recognition: in 2023, he was awarded the Kawaï-Cul prize in Waka-Waka (Moselle).
