29. JUL (Berjeaut Julien, b. 1974) - Lot 29
29. JUL (Berjeaut Julien, b. 1974) Silex and The City, T.2, Réduction du temps de trouvaille, plate 1 (Dargaud, 2010). India ink and ecoline on paper. 42x29.7 cm After a career as a historian specializing in China, Jul turned to press cartooning. For some fifteen years, he commented on current affairs in the press and on TV shows, before becoming a comic strip artist. His first album, Il faut tuer José Bové, released in 2005, was a huge success, and would not be denied. Winner of the Goscinny Prize for Best Script at Angoulême in 2007 for his "Guide du Moutard", he went on to create the cult series "Silex and the City" and "50 Nuances de Grecs", adapted for Arte as an animated series that broke audience records. With philosopher Charles Pépin, he created the comic book series "La Planète des Sages" and "Platon la Gaffe". For almost 10 years, he has also been the official scriptwriter for the adventures of Lucky Luke, whose albums are a fixture of French cultural life. His "Silex and the City" series has sold over a million copies, and an animated film based on the series will soon be released.
