MARTIN, Jacques (1921-2010). - Lot 284
MARTIN, Jacques (1921-2010).
Enak.
India ink on paper, framed.
Titled on the back in blue by the author "Alix. Enak (heads and standing figures)".
36,4x50,5 cm.
Excellent condition. (examined out of frame)
Attitudes of the Enak character juxtaposed.
Exceptional, completely unpublished study plate, dedicated in 1972 to the famous comics critic Numa Sadoul, author of, among other things, an interview book with Hergé, "Tintin et moi". An equivalent plate, similarly dedicated, exists for the character of Alix.
This drawing should be read in conjunction with a plate from Alix's adventures, no. 3 from the album "L'Enfant Grec", which features "Numa Sadulus", Numa Sadoul's alter ego. Sadoul is shown on a chariot, dragging the two heroes in his wake. It underlines the closeness between the famous critic and Jacques Martin.
One of Martin's finest unpublished works.
