Provenance and history :
Jean and Violet Henson Collection (1894-1974) (1887-1971). Work most probably received as a gift from Jean-Michel Frank (cf. Jean Henson, A time for réflexion, éditions Somogy, Paris, 1949, page 194).
Archives :
- Our Lampe Égyptienne by Alberto Giacometti appears on a watercolour by Chapman Anderson Sidney Roy (1916-199) painted at the Henson home in 1969, depicting the petit salon in the 1940s. This work is part of a suite of 38 watercolors by the artist depicting interior and exterior (garden) views of the Henson villa.
- Bibliothèque Kandinsky, Centre Georges Pompidou, Musée national d'art moderne, Paris - An identical model is reproduced on a period photograph conserved under number 5024 of the Fonds Félix Marcilhac deposited in this institution as MAR 1-2.
