LARGE DECORATIVE COVERED PITCHER.
Manufacture Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, 1879-1885.
Glazed earthenware, with natural relief decoration of animals and insects including a lizard, a frog, a beetle, a small turtle and a butterfly on a bed of lichen.
Work by José Alvares da Cunha (1849-1901), follower of Bernard Palissy.
Slightly missing, but good overall condition.
