LARGE DECORATIVE COVERED PITCHER. Manufacture Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, 1879-1885. Glazed earthenware, with natural relief decoration of animals and insects, including a lizard, a frog, a small turtle and a butterfly on a bed of lichen. Work by José Alvares da Cunha (1849-1901), follower of Bernard Palissy. Damage and missing parts. H. 41 cm - L. 23 cm.
