Marie Dumas, Flore et les amours, France, circa 1890 Folded fan, the leaf in fine needle lace, gauze stitch, richly decorated with flowers, adorned with three cartels painted on silk. The first depicts a reclining Flora embracing a dove, the second two loves preparing to shoot an arrow, and the last a dove feeding her chicks. Signature of French painter Marie Dumas on the right. Rare mount in white mother-of-pearl with pink, blue and green iridescence, engraved, silvered and gilded with flowers and burgundy. Metal hanger and tassel. H.t. 33.5 cm H.f. 21.5 cm (very good condition, small stain, SMALL CUT) In a box covered with garnet leather. Powder-pink silk interior.
