Fan-umbrella, France, circa 1860 Tilting fan-umbrella. The fir-green silk leaf opens into a cockade. The central knob is adorned with a mirror. This model is close to one patented by the Buissot brothers in 1855, and illustrated in M. Volet, "L'imagination au service de l'éventail, Les brevets déposés en France au XIXe siècle", Vesenaz, éd. Volet, 1986, p. 202, n°55. Bone handle with carved and engraved decoration, foldable. Height 41 cm - Closed: 17 cm Diameter 24.5 cm (cuts)
