Souvenirs of Paris, France, circa 1850 Folded fan, a double sheet of chromolithographed paper featuring emblematic views of the French capital, including Place Vendôme, the Pantheon, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Palais de Justice and the Arc de Triomphe. In the center, poor people beg for alms from a couple whose clothes bear witness to their provincial origins. Legends are written in Spanish, including "Paseos por Paris" or "promenade parisienne". On the reverse, decoration inspired by archaeological discoveries in Pompeii (perhaps the "domus aurea"?), and in the center, Esther's coronation. Carved, engraved and gilded bone mount with flower motif. Gilded metal clasp. H.t. 27 cm-H.f. 10.7 cm (good condition, wear)
