Ruffles, France, circa 1900 Rare department store lingerie parasol, a simple model for a modest woman. Cotton cover with hand-embroidered ruffles. Wooden handle. Coulant marked "16 AB" for Aristide Boucicaut, founder of the Bon Marché stores. Ball-shaped pommel adorned with three gilded metal rings. Inside marked "Au Bon Marché/ Boucicaut Paris". Total length 100 cm. Eight black steel ribs, 53 cm (small stains, original condition).
