Cockatoo, France, circa 1900 "En-cas", the cover in emerald-green silk taffeta, faille selvedge. Monoxyl black lacquered wooden cane, finished with a knob carved with a cockatoo head with sulfur eyes. The beak is covered with a gilded metal plate and the neck is adorned with a Louis XVI-style ribbon-knot collar. Stamped at the base of the mast with the name "Lafarge". Total length 96 cm Eight steel ribs, 55 cm (very good condition, restoration) N.B.: The fashion for cockatoos on "garden" parasol pommels around 1900 is cited in "L'ombrelle à travers les âges", in La mode du temps, 1914.
