Jade, gold and diamonds, Europe, circa 1860 Exceptionally luxurious parasol in the taste of the jeweler Mellerio. Coral-colored silk cover with cut-out "bavolines", lined with ivory-colored silk. Overcoat in ivory-colored needlepoint gauze lace. Ivory pole. Handle in fine stone, jade, richly decorated with 18-carat gold scrolls, and adorned with diamond and coral rings. Handle trimmings. Eight whalebone baleen plates, 24 cm Length 64 cm. Weight 300 gr (restoration) All umbrellas and parasols containing ivory, whale baleen or rhinoceros horn are issued with an intra-Community certificate, K permit, allowing them to circulate in Europe. These will be issued to purchasers.
