Wheat sheaf, Europe, circa 1870 Umbrella, ivory silk cover, lined with ivory silk pongee, and decorated with an appliqué lace top, Brussels, with a charming garland and ribbon bow motif. Various needlework patterns. Richly carved ivory handle, decorated with roses and sheaves of wheat. Ivory tip carved with a sheaf of wheat. Total length 76 cm Eight baleen whalebones, 35 cm Weight 342 gr (very good condition, restoration) All umbrellas and parasols containing ivory, whale baleen or rhinoceros horn are issued with an intra-Community certificate, or K permit, allowing them to circulate in Europe. These will be issued to purchasers.
