Bacchus and Ariadne, Europe, ca. 1750 Folded fan, the skin sheet painted with gouache of Ariadne and Bacchus on a chariot pulled by panthers being watered by children. Border of flowers, bunches of grapes pecked by a parrot. Reverse: lovers offer a basket of grapes to a young woman. White mother-of-pearl frame, cut out, engraved and gilded, decorated with baskets and flowers. In the center, a young man and two young girls in conversation are spied by a curious young man behind a tree. H.t. 29,8 cm - H.f. 14,6 cm (restorations)
