Set of 6 polychrome Gien earthenware plates: 1- with the "fi - Lot 462
Set of 6 polychrome Gien earthenware plates: 1- with the "five colors" design, central coat of arms with motto and crown of the Marquis de Robien (1822-1976), married in 1853 to Melle de Coëtnempren de Kersaint. Time wear but no chips or cracks (diam.: 22 cm). 2- with "five colors" decoration, central coat of arms with motto, supporters, banners, crowned helmet, crest and cry of Count Sosthène de Clermont-Tonnerre, friend of the arts and philanthropist, married in 1877 to Melle de Biencourt. A large chip on the marli (diam.: 24.5 cm). 3- with "five colors" decoration, scalloped border and central covenant arms with decorations, support and marquis crown. Despite heraldic uncertainties, we believe this to be Arcisse de Caumont (1801-1873), the famous Norman historian who married Melle Rioult de La Villaunay in 1832. Good condition (diam.: 24.5 cm). 4- "Renaissance" décor, scalloped edge, with central coat of arms, supports and marquisal crown of the Marquis de Noé, married in 1861 to Jenny Sanier. A fel (note the anomaly of the armorial enamels, diam.: 24.5 cm). 5- with rare Rouen decoration in nielloed ochre, with central covenant arms, supports and marquisal corona of Raoul Le Gouz de Saint-Seine (1836-1915) married in 1862 to Pauline de Brosses (1843-1915). One chip with fel (diam.: ). 6- decorated with the "five colors", scalloped border, central coat of arms, motto, crown and crest of the Noailles family. Plate refused after firing anomaly (diam.: 25 cm).
