Set of 5 buttons Very rare set of five First Empire duke buttons from the period of ducal appointment: 1)Maréchal Bessières, duc d'Istrie in 1809, covered with glory at Austerlitz and Jena, killed by a cannonball in Saxony in 1813 [I-80]. 2) Gaudin, Duke of Gaëte in 1809, Minister of Finance under the 1st Empire [I-375]. 3) Lebrun, duc de Plaisance in 1808, 3rd consul in 1799 (with Bonaparte and Cambacérès), archtreasurer of the Empire [I-563]. 4) Maret, Duc de Bassano in 1809, Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1811 [I-652]. 5) Kamerer de Worms, Duke of Dalberg in 1810 [I-281]. These buttons perfectly illustrate the art of livery and heraldry of the 1st Empire.
