Chantilly bobbin shawl, Maison Lefébure, 2nd half of the 19th century. Triangular shape in black silk, finely spindle-worked, with sewn-in label in ALF embossed paper for Auguste Lefébure et Fils. Densely decorated: border punctuated by well-drawn lozenges with ribbed leaves, each supporting large carnations, dense garland above loaded with large blooming carnations with their buds and foliage, imperial fritillaries, the upper border with a series of lozenge cartouches and recalled carnations, and supporting a garland of falling flowers, foliage and bouquets, seeded with peas. Dim. 2.95 m x 1.50 cm (very good condition) Provenance sale on October 3, 1989, Lefébure fund, Ionesco study in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
