One-pointed shawl in mechanical Chantilly, late 19th century - Lot 305
One-pointed shawl in mechanical Chantilly, late 19th century. Triangular in shape, a fine example of mechanical Chantilly lace production imitating Bayeux's Chantilly ombré: well-constructed layout decoration, rimmed with small interlaced medallions of flowers, floating bouquets and mirror-like sprays of flowers and foliage, blossoming flowers and leaves festooning the border. Dim. 2.73 m x 1.35 m laid flat (a few small holes)
