CAUCASIAN CHACHKA. Russia, second half of the 19th century, Alexander III period. Silver eagle-beak handle decorated with niello motifs, fine steel blade with two slightly curved gutters, acid-etched with the Romanoff imperial eagle on one side and the Emperor Alexander III's cypher on the other, regulation pattern, black leather-covered wooden scabbard with niello-decorated silver fittings and attachments. Weathered, as is. Blade: L.: 77.5 cm. With scabbard: L.: 99 cm.
