IMPORTANT AND RARE SILVER AUTEL CALICE By ANDREIEVITCH, Moscow, 1778. Resting on a cylindrical base, decorated on the upper part with four medallions in silver niello on a gold amati background, representing Saint Joseph, the resurrection of Christ, Christ on his cross and the Holy Mother of God. Christ on his cross and the Holy Mother of God, surmounted by the inscription in Cyrillic characters: "Accept the body of Christ Christ, taste his eternal spring". The lower part is adorned with four medallions in niello silver on a gold amati background, depicting scenes from the life of Christ against a background of finely chased and repoussé rocaille decoration. Time wear, but overall good condition. Title mark: 84, Moscow, 1778. Master assayer's hallmark: André Andréïèvitch, active from 1771 to 1779. Goldsmith's hallmark: Roman Mikaeloff, active from 1742 to 1778. H. 26.5 cm - Diam. 16.5 cm. Weight : 768 g.
