A mahogany and flamed mahogany veneer chest of drawers with a slight central protrusion. It opens with five drawers in three rows, without a crosspiece for the lower drawers. It stands on fluted toupis legs with bronze sabots and rings, the uprights rounded, the sides concave, widening at the back. Chased and gilded bronze ornamentation. Grey-veined white marble top. Early 19th century. Height : 92.5 cm - Width : 146.5 cm - Depth : 64 cm Stamped by Jean-Henri Riesener. (minor accidents, trace of additional bronze trim removed). A chest of drawers of the same model bearing the marks of the Château de Compiègne and the Fontainebleau furniture repository, appeared in the Galerie Charpentier sale in April 1951, lot 113. Another in 1932 in the Viel collection, lot 89.
