Lidded mug in ruby-red glass (rubinglas), a color discovered in Prussia at the end of the 17th century. Set in vermeil with an engraved pear-shaped body. The lid is adorned with a scene depicting truth and virtue singing of vice. South Germany, Augsburg mount circa 1690. H. 16 cm, Diameter 7.6 cm (top of glass) The glass shows signs of glass disease.
