Scalloped-edged dish in polychrome enamel, painted on copper with a blue ground and gold highlights, decorated with a young nymph playing the mandolin; translucent and blue counter-enamel and Appay inscriptions on rue de la Paix. Paix. Paris Paris, Théophile Soyer (1853-1940) after 1875. H. 17 cm - W. 13 cm - D. 3 cm Théophile Soyer, son of Paul Soyer, studied with Yvon and Levasseur and made his debut at the 1870 Salon with an enamel copy of a work by Le Barbier ainé. He exhibited regularly from 1875 to 1882. In 1889, he won a silver medal at the Universal Exhibition. He worked in collaboration with his wife Léa Dejoux, a pupil of Lamunière.
