Box in marquetry of native wood, decorated on all sides with - Lot 157
Box in marquetry of native wood, decorated on all sides with flowering scrolls in reserves with pewter nets on a rosewood background, the top decorated with a vase with flowering gadroons, cut brass lock entrance. Louis XIV period. Attributed to Aubertin Gaudron (1653-1727). Our chest has an inlaid decoration inspired by the work of André Charles Boulle, which can nevertheless be attributed to Aubertin Gaudron, cabinetmaker of the crown's furniture guard. These compositions are inspired by the paintings of the flower painter Jean Baptiste Monnoyer.
