Two 18th century Sèvres hard porcelain juice jars Marks in blue, pink and red with two crowned interlaced L, various marks of decorators of which Henrion With polychrome decoration of a semi of roses and a garland of myrtle, gold net on the edges, one with very small chips; the two with small wears L. : 8,2 cm. Provenance: most probably a supplement to the "roses and foliage" service originally delivered to King Louis XVI in 1775. XVI in 1775. Notes: There is a preparatory drawing for this service kept in the archives of Sèvres-Cité de la Céramique. David Peters in his publication Sèvres plates and services of the 18th century, Little Berkhamsted, 2015, p. 544, mentions this passage from the Sèvres archives "two sets of six juice jars (...) are mentioned in the registers of the painters' work on May 11 and 14, 1778 under the mention rozes et feuillages and with the names of Henrion, Marcou or Pfeiffer" of a supplement to the first delivery made for King Louis XVI.
