Jules WIESE (1818-1890), attribué à Silver and vermeil face plate decorated with birds surrounded by vine branches with green enameled leaves. French work circa 1850. Gross weight: 157.33 g. H. Height : 19.5 cm (Some missing enamel) Jules Wiese was a German silversmith who moved to Paris in 1839 to become foreman in the workshop of the famous silversmith François-Désiré Froment-Meurice (1802-1855). In 1844, he set up his own workshop, producing his own pieces exclusively for Froment-Meurice. He was awarded the "première classe" medal in goldsmithing, jewelry and jewelry at the 1855 Paris World's Fair, and established his reputation at the 1862 London World's Fair.
