COFFRET-CHÂSSE. In gilt bronze, rectangular in shape, with trapezoidal lid, adorned with nine enameled plaques decorated with eight portraits in medallions representing King Henri II surrounded by his wife, daughters and father, King François I and his mother, entwined with arabesques and surmounted by a semis of white and gold enameled fleurs-de-lis and the monograms of Kings Henri II and François I in white enameled letters enhanced with gold under a royal crown. The upper part opens with a lock onto a padded compartment in pale pink silk. The whole rests on four small flattened balls. Late 19th - early 20th century French work in the Limoges style. Age wear, slight accidents. H. 22 cm - W. 21.5 cm - D. 13 cm.
