RZEWUSKI Alex-Ceslas (1893-1983). Portrait of Lady Ann (1918-1987) and Lady Mary (1920-2007), daughters of Baron Humphrey de Trafford (1891-1971) and Cynthia Cadogan (1896-1966). Drypoint enhanced with color and white chalk on Japanese paper, signed lower left in graphite by the artist. Slight folds at edges, but good overall condition. H. 56.5 cm - L. 75 cm Reference: This work and the one shown here were published by Jacquelin during the exhibition organized by the artist at the Galerie Jean Charpentier in Paris from April 1 to 15, 1925. Book: A biography of Alex-Ceslas Rzewuski, written by David Gaillardon, will be published in 2019 by Editions Lacurne. History: Baron Trafford's two daughters married both a cousin of Britain's Queen Elizabeth, Sir Francis James-Cecil Bowes-Lyon (1917- 1977) and Derek Henry Parker Bowles (1915-1977), whose son Andrew married Britain's current Queen Camilla.
