RÉCAMIER, Juliette (1777-1849), femme de lettres. Autograph manuscript entitled Le Triomphe de l'Amour / chant premier. S.l.n.d. [1818]. 2 pp. large in-4°. Text written in the right margin. The most beautiful woman of her time translates Petrarch's great love poem. Beautiful verse translated from the Italian: "[...] Love, spite, pain, the season had brought me back to this solitary place where my tired heart likes to lay down the weight of its troubles. There, in the midst of the greenery, my voice extinguished in my tears, overcome by sleep, I saw a great light illuminating a thousand pictures of pain and a few images of pleasure [...]". Autograph Apostille signed by his niece Amélie Lenormant "1er feuillet d'une traduction de Pétrarque entreprise au débutment de 1818 par M. Ballanche, M. de Montmorency and Mme Récamier at the Vallée Aux Loups. This page is in Mme Récamier's hand. Ce 7 février 1851".
