125. Pair of embroidered panels in the Meuble Gaudin style, late 18th century, cream satin embroidered with silk in Beauvais stitch in a vivid polychrome of garlands of flowers and trophies with straw hats and cabrettes held by a ribbon bow. Lined. Two asymmetrical panels, probably for a valance mounted in the early 19th century, Heights: 161 cm and 55 cm, Width 103 cm and large border scrap. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds part of a Louis XVI salon upholstered in the same embroidered satin, delivered by G Jacob (1739-1814) for the Duc de Penthièvre, including a pair of armchairs, Inv.
