GODARD, Christian (1932) 23. GODARD, Christian (born 1932) Jacquot the Moss, plate 22A. India ink on paper. 38 x 57 cm, signed. Pre-published plate in the newspaper Pilote n°22, then published in the album "Les archives Goscinny : Jacquot le Mousse suivi de Tromblon et Bottaclou 1959-1968" (Vents d'Ouest). This plate is particularly rare because it remained in its original French version with the text of Goscinny published in Pilote, while the majority of the plates of this story had their dialogues masked by their translation in Dutch for publication in the newspaper Eppo in the Netherlands. Trace of glue on the left margin and wear. René Goscinny and Christian Godard worked together for about fifteen years on several series that make the happiness of the nostalgic of the illustrated magazines of the 50s and 60s like Vaillant and Pilote: Lili Mannequin, Jacquot le Mousse, Pipsi, and Tromblon & Bottaclou. Christian Godard (born March 24, 1932 in Paris) is a French author of comic strip. Having worked in almost every French-language weekly and monthly magazine for young people from the 1950s to the 1980s, he created numerous stories in almost every genre. He is the creator of Norbert and Kari, Martin Milan and scripted among others Le Vagabond des Limbes (with Julio Ribera), La Jungle en folie (with Mic Delinx), Toupet (with Albert Blesteau). He has about fifty series to his credit.
