LAW Relative to the Police & Administration of the Goldsmiths in the Kingdom. Given in Paris, April 3, 1791. Imp. Mallard, Var, sd, in-4 of 4 pp. with simple starting title. "The NATIONAL ASSEMBLY considering that it is essential to establish, for the trade of Goldsmiths & Jewelry, rules which, by ensuring the exactitude & the fidelity of the salesmen, inspire with the purchasers the confidence on which rests the prosperity of this interesting branch of the national industry; Decrees that its Committees of the Moneys, of the taxation & of the Commerce, will propose to it within a month, a draft of general regulations on the police and the administration of the goldsmith's trade in the Kingdom; & nevertheless until it has been decided by it in this respect, the existing Laws and Regulations on the marking and control of gold and silver materials, will continue to be carried out according to their form and content.
