DECLARATION OF THE KING, Who orders that each Community of Goldsmiths will have in the future a particular & invariable counter-mark. Given at Versailles on December 15, 1783. Registered in the Court of the Mint on May 26, 1784. In Paris, 1784, in-4 of 4 pp. with simple title of departure, unbound. Important declaration where the king suppresses the letters of the alphabet as a counter mark to establish a unique, distinctive and invariable mark in use in each community. From now on the year will be indicated in the punch and will change every year. It is about the reform known as of Bernier. Traces of paper stuck on the last sheet with small damage to the text.
