S. Kirk & Son. Silver tea and coffee set (11 oz), composed of a hot water fountain, a teapot, a coffee pot, a covered sugar bowl, a cake pot, and a milk pot. The whole with embossed and chased decoration of flowers and birds, the holds in baskets of flowers, the coffee pot surmounted by a Chinese character sitting on a cushion holding a parasol. H. Height : of the fountain : 34 cm Gross weight : 6 396,6 g Circa 1880 Samuel Kirk (1793 -1872) was an American silversmith, active in Baltimore, Maryland, and best known for his introduction of repoussé to the United States. He entered into various partnerships with his sons under the names S. Kirk & Son and S. Kirk & Sons. A teapot of the same design formerly in the collection of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
