GODARD, CHRISTIAN (BORN 1932) - Lot 132
GODARD, CHRISTIAN (BORN 1932)
JACQUOT LE MOUSSE, PLATE 22A.
India ink on paper. 38x57 cm, signed.
Pre-published plate in the newspaper Pilote n°22, then published in the album "Les archives Goscinny : Jacquot le Mousse suivi de Tromblon et Bottaclou 1959-1968" (Vents d'Ouest).
This plate is particularly rare because it remained in its original French version with the text of Goscinny published in Pilote, while the majority of the plates of this story had their dialogues masked by their translation in Dutch for publication in the newspaper Eppo in the Netherlands.
Trace of glue on the left margin and wear. René Goscinny and Christian Godard worked together for about fifteen years on several series that make nostalgic fans of the illustrated magazines of the 50s and 60s happy: Lili Mannequin, Jacquot le Mousse, Pipsi, and Tromblon & Bottaclou.
