GLEASON, EMILIE (1992) TED, DROLE DE COCO. ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS FOR THE FIRST AND FOURTH COVER. Black felt pen on paper. Signed and dated. Size of the two sheets 20.4x29.3 cm (bottom right corner cut, fold) and 20x24 cm. Émilie Gleason was born in Mexico in 1992. She began her training as an illustrator while studying at the Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg. During her studies, she imagined a scenario staging the daily life of her little brother, diagnosed with Asperger's: Ted, funny coconut, then takes shape. This project, published in 2018 (Atrabile) was hailed by the critics and allowed her to be distinguished Revelation Prize at the Angoulême Festival 2019. "I like to mix sociology and fiction, and talk about serious subjects, because they are quite easy to narrate."(Radio France interview, 22/02/2023)
