IMPORTANT PAIR OF PISTOLS OF OFFICER. Flintlock and flat-body locks lightly engraved. Octagonal barrels with hair rifling and slightly flared muzzles. Long shafts and stocks finely squared and carved with pearls and sequins. Iron trimmings cut and engraved with hunting motifs and knobs decorated with leonine masks. Finger rests and adjustable triggers. Original breeches. The metal parts are burnished and blazed. The barrels are stamped ELG and carry the inscription to CL de ANOUX BELFORT 1814 Le GAL BON D'HERMONCOURT. These weapons are in a remarkable state of conservation. Period at the beginning of XIXe century. L.canons : 20 cm - L.H.T. 35 cm. Note: Baron Paul-Ferdinand-Stanislas DERMONCOURT (1771-1847) was a cavalry general. He took part in the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, and then was shipped to Saint-Domingue between 1792 and 1793. On June 14, 1807, as a result of his military efforts, he obtained an annual endowment of 4000 francs from the department of Trasimene before being named Baron of the Empire on March 17, 1808.
