TABLE THERMOMETER IN GILT. By FABERGÉ, Saint Petersburg, 1899-1908. Rectangular in shape, the main face is enameled in translucent dark blue on a guilloche background of vertical "grains of rice" with applied decoration of rosebuds and palmettes finely chiseled in vermeil of two colors, the top is enhanced by a torch and a quiver intertwined held by a ribboned bow in vermeil. In the center appears the Réaumur thermometer on an opaque white enamel background, a tank filled with mercury, surrounded by a pearl pattern, the border of the frame is finely chiseled with a laurel garland enhanced at each corner by a flower. The set rests on two round feet chiseled with gadroons and pointed. With openwork gilt bridge foot on the back, forming the letter A and attachment ring. Accident on the back plate, but good condition. Title mark: 88, Saint Petersburg, 1899-1908. Goldsmith's hallmarks: Fabergé. Hallmarks of master goldsmith: Johan Victor Aarne (1863-1934). Inventory number : 1257. H. 21.5 cm - L. 5.8 cm. Gross weight: 311 g.
