DIPLOMATIC PRESENT OFFERED TO THE GRAND DUCHESS OLGA NICOLAÏEVNA, QUEEN OF WURTEMBERG, DAUGHTER OF TSAR NICOLAS I OF RUSSIA.

Beautiful snuffbox "Ottoman", in pink gold, oval shape, the hinged lid is decorated in the center with a bouquet of polychrome flowers painted on a plate enamelled in translucent red on a guilloche background, framed by a frieze of small flowers in champlevé enamel and on the other side appears a basket of flowers. The lobed border is decorated with enamelled motifs of trophies alternating with cups of flowers on an alternating pink and sky blue background, inside in pink gold. Preserved in its original red morocco case, inside velvet and ivory colored silk, bordered on the top of the lid by a leafy frieze gilded with petit-fers.
Very slight accidents.
Work attributed to Jean-Antoine Maystre (1798-1834) and marketed by Jean-Georges Remond (1752-1830), jeweler and goldsmith in Geneva and Hanau from 1804 to 1830. Enjoying a good reputation, his products were exhibited in Paris and
