Alençon lace ruffle, needlepoint, circa 1860-70. Large ruffle with beautiful decoration well in the spirit of this period and very finely made with the needle. Border with two undulating rivers of scrolling braids decorated with modes and frieze of roses and flowers, large frieze espousing the undulation of rivers to modes, dense vegetation of foliage and flowers in the natural, tulips, hydrangeas, anemones and forget-me-nots, pea seedlings, the motifs connected by the simple network of Alençon. Cotton of beige color, horsehair in edge and on some of the reasons. Dim. 1,55 m x 28 cm included (many accidents in the network, restorations)
