Pair of barbs and pass, Brussels, bobbins, circa 1715-25. In bobbin lace of a beautiful finesse illustrating remarkably the work of the lacemakers of the Brussels region at this period, with rare decoration of architectural elements, fruit trees including date palms, pots with bunches of flowers, the motifs decorated with many stitches of extreme finesse of realization, and connected by fine picotées brides. Linen color cream, the steering wheel of the pass a lighter tone. Dim. beards: 54 cm x 10 cm at the widest. (nice condition, border consolidated by a later picot edging) Cf. Santina M.
